Barcelona Team Building Trip

After an exciting week in Madrid. We packed our bags and moved on to our next stop on the list – Barcelona. Which is nearly as big as the capital. As this time of year (summer time), it is packed with tourists from all over the globe. The good thing about this country, is that everyone speaks English! I almost didn’t need to learn all of that Spanish beforehand. Which made things so much easier for us – We had been practicing but had a feeling that we weren’t quite up to scratch yet.

As we love to eat, we found a quiet street with a beautiful café. One with an open patio, decorated with native flowers. While we found a space within the outside eating area, we could smell the food wafting through. Only to make my stomach churn with hungriness.

With our drinks came out free food?! This is apparently called ‘Tapas’. You buy the drink and get a plate of delicious food for… NOTHING?! For us food lovers, this was a real dream come true.

The city was the most stunning I had ever seen. The air was filled with the smell of warmth and I could hear the sky lark, up above. I don’t think any of us had ever felt so relaxed.

It was lovely having a talk over food, beers and whine with my fellow co-workers. Normally we are only talking about things to do with the Manhattan beach chamber of commerce and it was wonderfully nice to be able to have a laugh and get to know them all on a personal level. They really do feel like good friends now and not just co-workers.

After leaving the quaint little café. We took a walk around the street, just simply to explore the local area. When Jamie pointed out that there was a huge building, lit up with red lights with nightclub like music oozing from the windows. To our naivety, we didn’t realize these were clubs filled with Barcelona escorts and that all buildings with red lights are in fact… Not nightclubs shall we say. Nope, not a single one of them.

We where overwhelmed with things to do in Barcelona. So we opted to do the 15 top things on this list as it included something for all our tastes. I can not express to you enough how much fun we had in this city! Its an amazing place for sure.

There is so much to do here that we didn’t know what to do next or where to start in Barcelona. But we thought a good thing to do would be to find some more of those tapas bars to explore. We only have a short stay here in Barcelona and will be leaving early in the morning to get to our next destination. So, a quiet night in great company and a good night sleep sounded wonderful to us all!
